Passports are required by all visitors to Gibraltar except British passport holders and EU nationals who are in possession of a valid national identity card. EU nationals may stay in Gibraltar for a maximum of six months. Also, for most persons holding an ILR stamp in their non British passports (Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK), may also enter Gibraltar. For most persons having a multiple entry visa valid for at least six months, entry to Gibraltar may also be permitted. You may also enter Gibraltar from the Spanish border if you have a Schengen visa. As a general rule, those persons who require a visa for entry into the United Kingdom will also require a separate visa for entry into Gibraltar.
Nationals of Australia, Canada and USA do not need a visa for stays in Gibraltar of up to three months.
There is a 21 day visa waiver in place for Moroccan and Chinese tourists to Gibraltar.
Please note the above is a guideline only and you should call the Gibraltar Tourist Office in the UK on 0044+ 20 7836 0777 if any doubt about the validity of your visa as criteria can change without notice and we cannot provide you with up-to-date, accurate visa or passport information.
